Language Learning in School
Covering Group Tutions & Home Tuitions for students that find language learning difficult
Service Description
Academic language learning is the oral, written, auditory, and visual language proficiency required to learn effectively in schools and academic programs. This type of language is contrasted with "conversational" or "social" language. Academic language learning includes a variety of formal-language skills such as vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, syntax, discipline-specific terminology, and rhetorical conventions. Even though students may be highly intelligent and capable, they may still struggle in a school setting if they have not yet mastered certain terms and concepts. Competency in academic language also bleeds into a wide variety of related non-linguistic skills that are difficult or impossible to separate out from language ability. These skills include: 1. Foundational academic skills (organizing, planning, researching) 2. Cognitive skills (critical thinking, problem solving, interpreting, analyzing, memorizing, recalling), 3. Learning modes (questioning, discussing, observing, theorizing, experimenting), and 4. Work habits (persistence, self-discipline, curiosity, conscientiousness, responsibility), among others. We also help students with their language learning and conversational practise apart from the academic linguistic studies from the middle school onwards.;i.e. 6th std onwards.
